Applying for the Marseille municipal artist studios.

16 municipal studios located across three sites:

— Place de Lorette, 13002
— Boulevard Boisson, 13004
— Cours Lieutaud, 13006

The open call for the 2021 – 2023 session is now closed. The selected artists will be announced at the end of March.

 

 

OPEN CALL FOR APPLICATIONS 2020

 

The 16 municipal studios are located across three sites:
– Place de Lorette, 13002 (7 studios)
– Boulevard Boisson, 13004 (4 studios + 3 new ones from June 2021)
– Cours Lieutaud, 13006 (2 studios)

1/ Selection criteria

Criteria for 14 studios (7 from March 2021 in Lorette / 7 from June 2021 in Lieutaud) :
— visual artists
— aged under 35
— living in Marseille

Criteria for 2 joint studios March 2021 to June 2022 :
 send a joint application
 visual artists
 living in Marseille

 

2/ Contents of application

— covering letter + CV
— artist portfolio (print and web versions)
— copy of ID
— proof of address (applicants may be staying at a third party’s place of residence)
— Send 1 application once for 2 artists

3/ Selection process

The studios are allocated for 23 months, non-renewable, excerpt for the 2 Lieutaud’ studios, allocated for 18 months.

The monthly rent is approximately €1.80 per m2. The surface areas vary from 60 to 140 m2 (ceiling height of 4m and more)

An occupancy agreement will be established between the City of Marseille and each selected artist.

The commission meets during January 2021 to deliberate.
